WHAT IS RECOVERY COACHING?

Recovery coaching is strengths-based coaching that focuses on recovery from all addictions including alcohol, drugs, food, gambling, shopping, sex, and debting. 

 

My goal as your recovery coach is to provide you with support, and be your mentor in addressing the “itty bitty committee” and removing barriers and obstacles to your recovery. I will focus on building your self-esteem and awareness, helping you define your goals, and maximizing your human potential in life, work, and society.
I will hold you accountable through a supportive nurturing relationship.

ABOUT

MEET DR. OZIE

I am a recovering addict with over 40 years of being clean and serene. I had to hit my rock bottom before I became willing to surrender to my addiction. I also have decades of recovery from multiple addictions. I am a certified alcohol and drug counselor (CADC), a certified compulsive problem gambler counselor (CPGC), and was a licensed clinical social worker for over 25 years. I have a Bachelors of Arts (BA) from Thomas Edison State University, a Masters of Education (M. Ed) in counseling from Antioch University, a Masters of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Pennsylvania, and a Doctorate of Social Work (DSW) from Yeshiva University. I have worked in the addiction mental health field for over 35 years.

 

My passion is to inspire and empower individuals struggling with addiction, and help them maximize their potential to live a life beyond their wildest dreams!

  • What influences your practice/philosophy?
    My practice is influenced by the evidence based practices of Dialectical Behavioral therapy, Cognitive Behavioral therapy and Acceptance and Commitment therapy. I also incorporate mindfulness practices, non-violent communication techniques and motivational interviewing
